LEE
William J. Lee, age 66 years, a respected citizen of the city for a number of years, died at 6:30 o'clock Monday evening following an illness with heart trouble. He had been a sufferer from the disease for a number of years and only a few days ago his condition reached the critical stage.
Mr. Lee was a soldier and when the war cloud of the days of 61-65 hovered black over the land, cast his fortunes with Company C, 52 Indiana Infantry. Later he joined Company F of the same regiment. In all he served practically throughout the entire rebellion and was engaged in many an historical encounter.
Mr. Lee is survived by five sons and one daughter, Frank, Mort, Clarence, Jesse and George Lee, and Mrs. William McCormack. The funeral services will be held at the house of Clarence Lee, on Wilder Street, where death occurred Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in South Park Cemetery.
