Mrs. Lucy C. Contino Giandalia, 77, formerly of 33 N. Mary St., died Monday at 4:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Home for the Aged, Columbia R2, where she had been a patient for one week.
Her death was followed by a lengthy illness and she had been a resident of Duke Convalescent Residence before moving to St. Anne's Home.
She was born in Cattolica Eraclea, Sicily, the daughter of the late Leonardo and Rosa Contino, and was the widow of James Giandalia, who died in 1952.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Sons of Italy, Happy Hours Club and Senior Citizens Club.
Surviving are five children: Mary G., wife of Ralph V. Darrah Jr., Paradise; Joseph L. Giandalia, Lancaster; Rose C., wife of Peter Randisi, Conestoga, and John J. Giandalia and Leonard L. Giandalia, both of Independence, Mo.
Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two brothers and a sister. They are Antonino Contino, Sicily, Italy; Rosario Contino, Newark N.J.; and Antoinette Ragusa, Rome, Italy.

King St., Lancaster, Wednesday at 8;30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 9 AM. Final commendation and farewell in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. The viewing will be at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9PM. Rosary at 8PM.
