Charles Scott Watt was the youngest of nine children of John Green and Jane (Baird) Watt. He grew up in the Troy, Illinois area and became a veterinarian with his practice in Collinsville, Illinois.

Charles was married three times; first to Caroline Della (Carrie) Kimberlin who died on Jul. 6, 1916 and is buried in the Watt Cemetery near Troy. Charles and Carrie were the parents of twin daughters Fay and Fern.

His second marriage was to Minnie Belle (Thompson) Morriss. Minnie's first husband George Ernest Morriss died in a train accident in 1916. Minnie died on Aug. 24, 1930 and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery in Collinsville nxt to her first husband.

Charles third marriage was to Elizabeth (Geers) Edwards who was the widow of Wilbur Edwards who died in 1933.

Charles died in the Madison County Tuberculosis Sanitorium in Edwardsville.
