Mrs. Lena (George) Bluma, 67 wife of Frank Bluma well known farmer in the Oak Mills community south of Atchison died at 1O:30 o’clock last night in the Atchison hospital where she was taken Sunday suffering with bronchial pneumonia. Mrs. Bluma had been ill for only the last week.
Mrs. Bluma was beaten by masked men at her farm home in February 1935, in a burglary of the house. She still bore marks of the beating about the face at the time of her death.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. T. C. Cocks at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with burial in the Round Prairie cemetery.
Mrs Bluma is survived by her husband, two brothers. John George Sunnyside, Calif . and Charles George,Hazelton Kan., and one sister Mrs. Nettie Cox, Wichita.
Bom in Leavenworth county July 19 1868 Mrs. Bluma had spent her entire life in northeast Kansas she was married
to Frank Bluma in July 1896 in Leavenworth county and they came
the same day to Oak Mills, where they have since made their home.
Mrs. Bluma was a quiet industrious woman devoted to her husband and their home. She was highly regarded by all who knew her.
