Funeral services for Jesse Franklin Ramsey, age 90, of Chatham, were held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, July 13, 1985 in the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rev. C. C. Milstead and Rev. Frank Shields conducted the services.
Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Mr. Ramsey passed away Friday, July 12 in the Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston after a short illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora W. Ramsey of Chatham; five sons, Jesse Ramsey, Alvin Ramsey and Clyde Ramsey, all of Olla, Clifton Ramsey of Chatham and Ernest Ramsey of Grayson;
Four daughters, Mrs. Irene Barr of Ruston, Mrs. Bessie Mae Bond of Simsboro, Mrs. Marie McElroy and Mrs. Mildred Taylor of West Monroe;
Two sisters, Mrs. Rosie Miller of Bastrop and Mrs. Emma Clark of Delhi; one brother, Eugene Ramsey of Chatham; 30 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren also survive.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
