Kenneth Elvin Fox, 76, of Farmington, passed away Monday, July 10, 2006, at The Bridge in Farmington, with his family at his side. He was born Feb. 16, 1930, in Sulphur, Okla., to Elvin and Bertha Fox.

Kenneth was raised in Stratford, Okla. He joined the U.S. Army in January 1951 and returned to Oklahoma upon his discharge Dec. 24, 1952. He then moved to New Mexico in 1953, and began his career with El Paso Natural Gas Company.

He married Louise Sept. 2, 1955, and they resided in Bloomfield for most of their married life. Kenneth retired from EPNG in 1986, after 33 years. After his retirement, Kenneth was active with the VFW Post No. 2182 until his illness. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 1747 in Farmington.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; his parents; five brothers; and four sisters.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Cathy (Tim) Jones of Farmington, Cindy Fox of Goodyear, Ariz., and Kenneth L. Fox of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Tim (Cristy) Jones of Middletown, R.I., Michelle Hill and Kevin Hill of Goodyear, and Casey Jones of Farmington; great-grandchildren, Haylee, Kallie and Van Jones of Middletown; two sisters, Dorothy Jean (Tommy) McCoin of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Minnie Williams of Pauls Valley, Okla.; sisters-in-law, Ray Del Robinson of Farmington, Gladys (Cecil) Cast of Elephant Butte, and Joan Allgood of Medford, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 17, at Memory Gardens in Farmington, with Pastor Keith Berryman officiating.

A special thanks goes to The Bridge staff and residents, San Juan Home Health, Northwest New Mexico Hospice, The Cancer Center and Dr. James Neidhart, and for the care he received at San Juan Regional Medical Center. Kenneth was especially fond of his nurses, Nancy, Noreen, Cyndi, Tracy, Louise, Shawna, and Erin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Northwest New Mexico Hospice, 608 Reilly Ave., Farmington, NM 87401.
