Mrs. Alice A. Harpine, 83, of New Market, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Skyline Terrace Nursing Home in Woodstock, where she had been a patient for almost four years.
She was born on August 5, 1931, in Shenandoah County and was a daughter of the late Claude and Pearl Rupert.
Alice was employed for many years at Stonewall Jackson High School as a cook. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband, Allen Harpine; a son, Greg Harpine; two daughters, Debbie Crim and Donna Roberts; two sisters, Betty Huffman and Dolly Thorpe; three brothers, Claude Rupert Jr., Rodney Rupert and Gary Rupert; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was a member of the Mount Zion Lutheran Church west of New Market where a funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015. The Rev. Debbie Dukes will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Friends and relatives will be received by the family on Saturday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Theis Funeral Chapel in New Market.
