Alice Innis was born January 11, 1857 at Fayette, Iowa, and died July 20, 1917 at the age of 60 years, 5 months, 21 days. Her death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. W. Marvin. She was the daughter of Rufus and Liddy Innis. Her mother died while she was very young, but she grew to young womanhood in the home of her father.

On January 1, 1876 she was united in marriage to Henry Irish. In 1878 Mr. and Mrs. Irish came to Smith Co, KS and took a homestead near Reamsville; which has been the family home until now.

Eleven children, four sons and seven daughters were born.

One daughter, Blanche, died at the age of 18 and 2 infant sons died when only a few days old.

The children who survive are Mrs. Mabel Shipley of Smith Center; Al H. Irish of McDonald Kansas; Mrs. Myrtle Marvin of Franklin Nebraska; Mrs. Susie Irish of Charles City, Iowa; Mrs. Gertie Clemans of Franklin Nebraska; Mrs. Rena Curtis of Hays, Colorado; Guy Irish of Hugo Colorado; Mrs. Tressa Bartleson of Franklin Nebraska.

She also leaves 26 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, one sister Miss Nora Innis of of Smith Center and 2 brothers, Mr. John Innis of Colorado and Mr. Lee Innis of Oklahoma.

Funeral services were held at the Middle Beaver U. B. church Sunday morning and the body laid to rest in the Clemens cemetery.
