"Joseph Chandler Amsberry, 89, died Thursday at 6:15 p.m.at his home in Bussey.
He was born October 31, 1871 in Marion County and was a son of Allen and Mary Amsberry. He had been a resident of Bussey for 61 years.
Surviving are his wife, Julie; four sons, Rolla of Peel, Arkansas, Charles of San Bernadino, California, Stanley of Venice, California and Arlen of Hamilton; two daughters, Mrs. Lenora Thomas and Mrs. Ruth Bentley, both of Omaha; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Tade of Hilton; and two brothers, Lester Amsberry of Williston, North Dakota and Charles Amsberry of Stockport.
The body was taken to the Zimmerman Chapel in Bussey Saturday. The funeral services were today at 2 p.m. at the Bussey Methodist Church. The Rev. E. LeRoy Pullman was in charge. Burial was in Bussey Cemetery."
