Mrs. Cora Snoddy Raceland- Mrs. Cora Snoddy, 68, widow of Charles Snoddy, died Thursday at 11:20 pm at the home of her daughter, Miss Jessie Snoddy of Raceland, with whom she made her home. Mrs. Snoddy was born on June 21, 1886 at Jackson County, Ky., a daughter of the late Levi and Mycha Pennington. She had been a resident of this community for the past 45 years, Mr. Snoddy preceded her in death about five years ago. She was a member of the Herald Memorial Methodist Church here.In addition to her daughter, Miss Snoddy, the deceased is survived by another daughter, Mrs. John Pelfrey of Lima, OH., four sons, Clifford Snoddy of Raceland, James Snoddy of Newport News, Va., Arthur Snoddy of Ashland, and Chester Snoddy of Pittsburgh, Pa,; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Griffith, who resided with her niece, Miss Jessie Snoddy and two brothers, Albert and Mose Pennington, both of Raceland. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2pm at the Herald Memorial Methodist Church, with Rev. A. L.. Moore and Rev. Paul E Bryant officiating. Burial will be made in the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, under direction of the Carman Funeral Home of Russell. The body was removed to the home of the daughter, Miss Jessie Snoddy of Raceland, where friends may call after 4 pm today.
