He was the son of William J. Hand and Catherine Treslar, and the husband of Anna Miller.

Clark's Summit Man Lake Ariel Native

Floyd B. Hand, 78,, of 911 Grove St., Clark's Summit, died last night in Moses Taylor Hospital after an illness.
He was the father of Ralph W. Hand, at home, vice president of the First National Bank & Trust Co. of Scranton, Dr. Robert F. Hand, East Greenville, Montgomery County; and Miss Dorothy C. Hand, at home, head of the mathematics department of Clark's Summit Abington Joint High School. His wife, the former Anna Miller, died in Decemeber, 1942.
A native of Lake Ariel, Mr. Hand was a son of the late William J., and Catherine Treslar Hand. He resided in Dunmore for some time and was educated in the schools in that borough. He also lived in this city a number of years before moving to Clark's Summit in 1918.
Mr. Hand was a foreman in the Stores Department of the Lackawanna Railroad and later was manager of the shipping department of the Scranton Tobacco Co., prior to his retirement in 1945. He was a member of Clark's Summit Methodist Church and a former member of the Clark's Summit Abington Joint School Board. He was an outstanding amateur athlete in this region in his younger days.
A brother, Homer B. Hand, Wyckoff, N.J., and a grandson also survive.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 P.M. from the Young Funeral Home, 418 South State St., Clark's Summit. The Rev. Robert J. Lukens, Clark's Summit Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Dunmore Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
