She was born in Bond community in Oakdale where she lived all of her life. She was a faithful member of Mount Hope Baptist Church where she served in various roles and committees, including Sunday school and BYW teacher, office worker, choir member and supported her husband’s chalk talk ministry. She loved listening to southern gospel music.She was devoted to the care of her husband, his businesses, her children, extended family and home. She taught her children about God, His word and prayer. She kept an open door and blessed others through her cooking, baking and fudge-making. She loved giving gifts and ministering to the elderly, needy and hurting. She exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman and leaves a legacy of faithfulness.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph René Reed; Parents, Ellis and Amy Bond; two brothers, Ray Bond and Jack Bond; three sisters, Naomi Turner, Dorothy Ardoin, and Catherine Prestwood.
She is survived by three sons; one daughter; one brother; 15 grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2 P.M. at Mount Hope Baptist Church in Bond.
Burial will follow in Bond Cemetery in Oakdale under the direction of Reed Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin Wednesday at Mount Hope Baptist Church from 2 P.M. to 10 P.M. and will continue Thursday at 10 A.M. until time of service.
