Nellie McDaniel
Nellie E. McDaniel, 99, a lifetime resident of Centerville, died Saturday, March 14, 1981, in Golden Age Manor, Centerville.
Born in Appanoose County September 15,1881, she was the daughter of Frank and Catherine Myers Roby. She married Harry Wilson McDaniel March 19,1901, and he preceded her in death February 7,1948.
She was a longtime member of the Methodist Church and a charter member of the Golden Links Class. She was a one-time member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include one son, Roy (Hokie) McDaniel of Centerville; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Goldie McDaniel and Helen Louise Waite; two sons, Lawrence Earl McDaniel and one who died in infancy; one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
Services will be Tuesday, March 17, at 1:30 p.m., at Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Schweizer officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service. A memorial has been established to the Golden Age Manor.
