John Sanders Wade was born Dec 1862 (census records) or 2 Sep 1865 (death certificate), the third of seven children of John Anderson WAde (1837-1901) and his first wife, Mary J. Burge (abt 1842-by 1975)). He died on 20 Jun 1935 in Abilene, Taylor County, Texas.

Funeral for J. S. Wade, 64, who died at his home 934 Orange Street. Abilene at 3 p. m. Thursday, will be held from the Laughter chapel, this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Although he had been in ill health for several years, Mr. Wade succumbed unexpectedly. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
John Sanders Wade was a native of Texas, born near Kaufman, Sept. 2, 1865. He lived there until he was 18 years of age, when he moved to Young county, his home for two years. For eight years he was in the grocery business in Weatherford, and before moving to Abilene in 1932, he had lived in Fort Worth, Jacksboro, Cleburne and Mineral Wells. In Cleburne and Jacksboro he was in the ice manufacturing business.
Mr. Wade was married Sept. 20, 1910, to Miss Elizabeth Gilliam of Brownwood. Mrs. Wade and a daughter, Miss Elizabeth Wade of Abilene, survive. Other survivors include a brother, Oscar Wade of Ell Nido. Cal.; a sister Mrs. Ada Royal of Cleburne; six half-brothers, A. B. Wade of Big Spring; Anderson Wade, Keene; Austin Wade, Kilgore; Jerome Wade, Milsap; Byron Wade, Graham; Delbert, Bigsby, Okla.; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Gene Martin and Mrs. Zora Edleman, Graham.
Dr. E. B. Surface, pastor of the Central Presbyterian church, will officiate for the rites. Burial will be made in an Abilene cemetery.
