Alvin Burge Wade, born 13 Jul 1876, in Kaufman County, Texas, was the oldest of six known children of John Anderson Wade (1836-1901) and his second wife, Temperance ("Tempy") Burge (1856-1918). HIs father, who had been born in Calloway County, Kentucky, came to Kaufman County by 1850, where he married Temp's sister Mary J. Burge in 1858, by whom he had at least five previous children, half-siblings of Alvin. Alvin married Martha Esther ("Hettie") Wilson, widow of Charles Oscar Jenkins (1869-1922) about 1930 and preceded her in death in 1958. She died in 1968 and they are both buried here togetehr. "A. B. Wade, 82, Retired &P Engineer Dies. A. B. Wade, 82, retired T&P locomotive engineer and resident of Big Spring since 1905, died early Saturday. Funeral services are to be held at 4 p.m. today in the Nalley-Pickle Chapel with Thomas E. Cudd, minster of the church of Christ at 11th and Main, officiating. Interment in Trinity Memorial Park will follow graveside rites by the Masonic lodge. Mr. Wade retired from T&P employment in March, 1845. He became ill in 1845 and had been in poor health since that time. He was a veteran of World War I and served as a train engineer in Franc during the conflict. He was a member of AF&AM Lodge No. 130 at El Paso. Mr. Wade moved to Big Spring from Graham in 1905. He wa born July 13, 1876. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Wade, Big Spring; five brothers, B. B. Wade of Graham, Delbert Wade of Bixby, Okla., and Anderson, Jerome and Oscar Wade, all of California; two sisters, Mrs. M. E. Martin and Mrs. Zora Eddleman, both of Graham; one step-daughter, Mrs. Luther Daniel of Lubbock; one step-son, Oliver J. Jenkins of Midland; one step-daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mae Jenkins of Big Spring; two step-grandchilden and three step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tom Adams, Jim Skalickhy, Franklin Early, G. W. Dabney, A. R. Collins and Lee Porter." Obituary: "A. B. lvin B. Wade of Big Spring was a former resident of Graham. He was raised in Young County.

Services were held at Nally-Pickle Funeral Home in Big Spring.
