ALEXANDRIA, IN- P. Edmund "Ed" Pierce, 90, passed away on Thursday, June 04, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.

Ed was born on March 16, 1925 in Alexandria to Will and Vida (Maddox) Pierce and has lived in Alexandria all of his lifetime. Ed was the last of the Pierce siblings remaining. He was a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1943. In 1944, Ed married the love his life, Bettie Gipe, a union that remained for more than 70 years until his beloved Bettie preceded him on May 30, 2015.
He worked for National Gypsum Corp., formerly of Alexandria. Ed was a well known farmer in the Alexandria area and farmed for most of his lifetime. He was member of the former Alexandria Masonic Lodge-#235 and a former member of the Alexandria Order of the Eastern Star. He attended the Union Chapel Community Church of rural Alexandria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-Nehersta Roberts, 5 brothers-McClellen Pierce, Charles Pierce, Cloyd Pierce, Robert Pierce and James Pierce. Half-Brother-Herman Pierce, 2 Half-sisters-Lillian Pierce and Muriel Wright, a grandson Chad Pierce and a great-great granddaughter-Sophia Presley.
