Mary might have been the daughter of a John Allen. She married Robert Stewart "the 28th day of January 1804" in Knox County, Tennessee; Filed by A. White; Bondsmen Robert Stewart and Thos. McSpaden. Mary and Robert Stewart were the parents of eleven children: Matilda, Martha, John J., Samuel, Mary M., Robert, Martin, Andrew, Walker A., Margaret, and Nancy Stewart.

Mary died between 1850 and 1860 in DeKalb County, Alabama and is thought to have been buried at the Stewart Family Cemetery.
