Mildred Gilley, of Taylor, Texas passed away on May 27, 2015 at the age of 95.

Mildred was born July 19, 1919 in Fort Towson, Oklahoma to W.O. and Ella Key.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Phyllis (Gilley) Tone of Taylor, Texas and son, Jerry Gilley and his wife Cathy of Kingwood, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses Cindy and Rick Houle of Seguin, Texas, Mark and Erin Gilley of Chicago, Illinois, Mitch Tone of Blanco, Texas, Mike and Teresa Tone of Lubbock, Texas and Nicole and Tod Kuenning of San Antonio, Texas. Mildred was the proud MeMaw of 9 great-grandchildren: Kristen Guerra and Kyle Ponder, Megan and Ava Gilley, Devyn, Christian, and Brice Tone and Patrick and Christopher Tone. She is also survived by numerous family and friends and was affectionately known to them as ‘Aunt Mid’.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Gilley, her parents and all of her siblings.

Mildred was the youngest of 10 children. She married Willard Gilley in 1934 in Borger, Texas. They moved to Monahans, Texas in 1956 where she lived until she moved to Taylor in 1989. Mildred always had a smile to share and will be remembered for her kindness towards others.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos Parker Blvd., Taylor, TX.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 2pm at Providence Funeral Home. Interment will be at Monahans Memorial Cemetary in Monahans, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice your choice.

The family would like to thank the staff at SPJST Assisted Living and SPJST Rest Home for the kindness and loving care that they provided. Mildred was one of the first residents at the Assisted Living and thoroughly enjoyed her time there.
