Margaret Michels died Friday, August 3, 1962 in a Devils Lake hospital. The funeral was held Tuesday at 10 at St. Boniface Catholic Church of Calio. She was 68 years old. Rev. Mr. Prusinowski officiated.
Rosary was recited at 8 at Murray Funeral Home in Cando.
Burial was held in Calio Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Gau, Alphonse, Walter, Aloys, Leonard and Elmer Michels.
Margaret Michels, the former Margaret Gau, was born on November 7, 1893, at Webster, South Dakota. She came to North Dakota April 2, 1897, and married Frank Michels in Calio on November 12, 1912. They had lived there since.
Survivers besides her husband, were four sons, Alvin of Calio, Math of Anaconda, Montana, Leo of Deer Lodge, Montana, and Omer of Cut Bank, Montana; five daughters, Mrs. Philip (Edvina) Weisz of Devils Lake, Mrs. George (Alma) Berg of Egeland, Mrs. Math (Lorraine) Check of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mrs. Ralph (Genevieve) Meyer of Anaconda and Clara Michels of Calio; three brothers, George Gau of Egeland, Tony Gau of Camrose, Alta., and Peter Gau of Penticton, B.C.; one sister, Mrs. Frank Schnetter of Osceola, Indiana; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Murray Funeral Home of Cando had charge of arrangements.
