Lois Mae O’Hern was born June 8, 1926 to Clifford Orville Best and Kate Mae "Katie" (Tuggle) Best.

She graduated from Hennessey, OK., High School in 1944.

Lois married Melvin Carson O’Hern June 21, 1945, they raised their six children on a farm near the Marshall, OK., area. Melvin passed away in 1972.

She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, she was very active in the Kingfisher County Homemakers Extension and served as President in 1964 and she won many awards at all levels of competition as a seamstress.Lois was a member of Union Chapel Christian Union Church.
After the children were grown, she worked retail at various businesses.

Lois moved to Kansas City in 1986, She was employed at North Kansas City Hospital Food Service and attended Antioch Bible Baptist Church.
She returned to Oklahoma in 2004 and lived in Broken Arrow.

Lois died at the age of 88, May 22, 2015.

Survivors include children, Tom O’Hern and wife Sharo, Karen White, Jane Brink and husband Joe, Sue Miller and husband Joe, Pat Polo and husband Mike; daughter-in-law Marla O’Hern Rasco and husband Jay; 29 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; Sisters, Marie Gill, Iva Whitaker, Ginger Coker and Gail Nelson.

Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; son, Tim O’Hern; son-in-law, Don White; sisters, Norma Hill and Ira Goodwin; brothers, Leroy Best and Oscar Best.

Funeral services were May 30, 2015 at Union Chapel Church with burial at the Hennessey Cemetery.
