Funeral services ware held Sunday afternoon from the Methodist church, for Charles L. Blewett, aged 86, who died early last Thursday morning of last week after an illness of about a year. Rev. Harlan Faris officiated.
Charles W. Blewett, son of John and Mary Blewett was born August 22, 1860 at Belmont, Wis. During his youth and young manhood he remained in that vicnity.
In the spring of 1883 he came to this vicinity. That fall he began farming with his together, east of town. It was during that period the railroad was built through Kingsley.
He was united in marriage to Miss Dora Boscoe on Dec. 8th, 1886. To this union one child was born.
After their marriage they moved to the farm known as the Steer place northeast of Kingsley. In the spring of 1895 they moved to a farm 7 1/2 miles northwest of Kingsley which they had purchased.
In the spring of 1907 the family retired from farming and moved to Kingsley where Mr. Blewett has since resided. His life was saddened by the death of his faithful wife on Jan. 5th, 1943.
Mr. Blewett united with the Methodist church at Good Hope on Aug. 7, 1898 and- when he moved to town he transferred his membership to local church. For the last, year and a half Mr. Blewett has been failing in health.
He leaves to mourn his death, his son Charles; two brothers, George, of Goldfield and Henry H.. of Kingsley; 3 grand children, 10 great grandchildren, and other relatives and a host of friends .
