Mrs. Minerva Jones, age 71 years, wife of T. L. Jones, died at her home in Dodson Tuesday, April 30th, 1929 following an illness of several years.

Mrs. Jones was born in Alabama in 1857 and came to Louisiana in 1870. In 1874 she was united in marriage to T. L. Jones of Dodson and to this union fourteen children were born, eleven of whom survive her.

At an early age Mrs. Jones became a member of the Baptist Church and for fifty years lived her faith.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Dodson Baptist Churcy by Rev. Joe Hinkey, a former pastor of the deceased assisted by Rev. A. H. Cullen of Winnfield. Interment was made in the Zion Hill Cemetery.

Surviving the deceased are her husband, T. L. Jones, eleven children, C. R. Jones and Ira T. Jones of Waco, Texas, Mrs. R. W. Buce of Winnfield, Mrs. John Langley of Peason, W. A. Jones of Oakland, California, Mrs. W. R. Sharman of Ruston, Mrs. G. A. Tyler of Shreveport, Mrs. Hall Colvin of Jonesboro, Mrs. K. C. Hightower of Ruston, Lonnie L. Jones of Monroe, and Miss Pearl Jones of Dodson, all of whom were present except W. A. Jones of Oakland, California.

She also leaves a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren to mourn her loss.
