She was born on April 12, 1868 in Essex, Vt., the daughter of Peter and Delia "Lena" Bone Benware Benway Bowman Phillips Sr.

She was baptized at the age of 18 in St. Joseph Church in Burlington Vermont.

She married Joseph David Bessette Sr. on June 14th 1884 in Burlington, Vermont.

Together they shared nine sons and three daughters.

She worked as a Housewife and resided on 358 South Winooski Avenue in Burlington, Vt.

She is buried with her grandson Franklin Henry Burbo 1936-1936 in the Old Mount Calvary Cemetery in Burlington, Vt.
