ORWELL, VT. - Jacob Phillips, age 76, passed away on Monday, October 22nd 1962 at the Rutland Hospital in Rutland, Vt.

Mr. Phillips was born on March 2nd 1886 in South Burlington, Vt., he was the son of Peter and Eliza (Way) Phillips.

He lived most of his life in Orwell, Vt.

He was survived by four daughters; Mrs. Margaret Phillips of Glens Falls, N.Y., Mrs. Arthur Forrest of Brandon, Vt., Mrs. Mildred Tilton of Revere, Mass., and Mrs. Richard Forrest of Fair Haven, Vt., four sons; Burton Phillips of Hudson Falls, N.Y.,, Norman Phillips of Argyle, N.Y., Howard Phillips of Windsor, Vt., and Ivan Phillips of Castleton, Vt., 36 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one brother; Fred Phillips of Whiting, Vt.

His wife, the former Grace English, died two years ago.

Arrangements by the Mallory Funeral Home in Fair Haven, Vt.

Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell, Vt.

In 1925, Jacob and his wife and children were living in a two room shack on a road near the railroad track between Leicester Junction and Salisbury, Vt.
