CHARLES B. HEWETT, of Sharpsburg, died at Washington County Hospital Thursday after a month's illness. A lifelong resident of Sharpsburg, he was the son of Daniel A. and Margaret Boyer Hewett of Sharpsburg.
He was employed by the Norfolk and Western Railroad for 25 years and later worked as a custodian at the Sharpsburg School, retiring in 1956.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Grace Hewett, Sharpsburg; two sons, Raymond H., Sharpsburg; and Howard E., Martinsburg, WV; and two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn V. Donaldson, Brunswick; and Mrs. Rose G. McNemar, Hagerstown; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Leaf Funeral Home, Sharpsburg; burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
