He was employed by the Norfolk and Western Railroad for 25 years and later worked as a custodian at the Sharpsburg School, retiring in 1956.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Grace Hewett, Sharpsburg; two sons, Raymond H., Sharpsburg; and Howard E., Martinsburg, WV; and two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn V. Donaldson, Brunswick; and Mrs. Rose G. McNemar, Hagerstown; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Leaf Funeral Home, Sharpsburg; burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
