iRMO - Funeral services for Thomas C. Allen, 82, of Irmo will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Reverend Ron Bryant will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dalton Adkins, Wesley Bryant, Randy Bryant, Michael Allen, Curtis Bryant, and Clay Hunter. Honorary pallbearers will be Katy Hunter and Caitlin Allen. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen died peacefully with all of his family by his side on Friday, May 1, 2015 after a long illness. He was born on April 23, 1933 in Ruby, SC to the late Thomas G. Allen and Mary Bell Gulledge Allen. He proudly served in the US Army in Germany 1954-1955. He was a professional welder before he retired from RECO in Cayce, SC. He loved watching NASCAR, fishing, and sitting in the yard watching the birds.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Doris Wright Allen of Irmo; three sons, Tommy Allen (Theresa) of Irmo, Ronnie Allen (Linda) of West Columbia, and Todd Allen (Suzanne) of Lexington; two daughters, Jeannie Bryant (Derryl) of West Columbia, and Karen Adkins (Lee) of Irmo; 7 grandchildren, Randy Bryant (Kelly), Curtis Bryant, Katy Hunter (Clay), Wesley Bryant (Cassie), Michael Allen, Caitlin Allen, and Dalton Adkins; and 4 great-grandchildren, Kelsie Bryant, Paislee Bryant, Emery Bryant, and Charlie Hunter; and 2 on the way; two brothers, Norris Allen (Melinda) of Sumter and David Allen (Barbara) of West Columbia; and special brother-in-law, Eugene "Red" Weed of Irmo. Mr. Allen is predeceased in death by his brother, J.P. Allen; and sisters, Rosalee Waites and Elaine Weed.
