Josephine Hawkins was born October 5, 1916 in Alexandria, Minnesota, the daughter of Charles and Saidie(Alger) Hawkins. She attended school in Alexandria. She married Herbert Linser, August 22, 1935 in Sisseton, South Dakota. They lived in Alexandria where she was a retail store clerk. Herbert died in 1962. She moved to Albert Lea in 1968 and worked in the dietary department of Naeve Hospital until retirement in 1978. She has been a resident of St. Lukes Lutheran Home since June of 1992.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea and active in church circle programs, active in senior citizens programs and Meals On The Go.
Survivors include her daughter, Naomie and Leroy Omland of Blue Earth; brother Vernon Agnes of Bagley; sister-in-law Vallie Coykendall of Detroit Lakes, two grandchildren and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, four brothers and two sisters.
Patton Funeral Home of Blue Earth was in charge of arrangements.
