Everyone called him 'Ray'. When he was saved at the age of 18, he was called to serve the Lord and started many churches. He also pastored many and taught Sunday School as well as served as an interim pastor well into his seventies.
Ray enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish and knew how to fix anything. He also loved music, singing and playing guitar.
He married Evelyn Campbell and had four children: William David, Nathan Daniel, Adam Roy and Lena Rienell. He has 5 grandchildren: Alicia Belcher, Alicia Thompson, Ashleigh Thompson, Sarah Brown, Adam Thompson Jr., and one great grand-child, Dustin Belcher.
After Evelyn's death, he married Imogene Campbell and has many step children and step-grandchildren as well.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, son, William David and brother Hollis and sisters, Faye and Shirley. He is buried next to first wife, Evelyn Thompson in the Ray Campbell Cemetery in Cornettsville, KY.
