Harry E. Olson was born in Buffalo Center, Iowa, May 15, 1895, the son of O. Palm and Martha Olson. He attended school in Iowa and when fifteen years of age he came to Miltona, Minnesota. In 1935 he came to Alexandria, which has since been his home. On November 2, 1940 he was united in marriage to Sophia Mathilda Rusch. Mr. and Mrs. Olson continued to live in Alexandria.
Mr. Olson passed away at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria, November 4, 1973 at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and two sons: Lenora (Mrs. Charles Martin) of St. Paul, Minnesota; Marjorie (Mrs. Donald Olson) of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; Raymond Olson of Garfield, Minnesota; Betty Ann (Mrs. Leonard Johnson) of Alexandria; Leonard E. Olson of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; also surviving are eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; three sisters: Joe (Mrs. Wm. Stamer) of Staples, Minnesota; Evelyn (Mrs. Joe Nelson) of Rockford, Illinois; Mrs. Esther Simon of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, four brothers, one son, one daughter and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held November 7, 1973 in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Alexandria, Minn., with Rev. Paul Ranum officiating. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria, Minn.
