Franklin News-Herald, Saturday, Oct 25 1924:
Philip Bell died very suddenly Friday evening at his home in Dallas, TX. He had not been feeling well for a few weeks, but his condition was not considered serious. He was born October 30, 1877 in Franklin, son of William T. and Rachel Likin Bell. His mother died just seven months ago.

He was a member of St. John's Church, Franklin, and was a choir boy from the time the vested choir started. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1895. During the World War, he served in France with the Y. M. C. A. He was a prominent florist in Franklin for many years, and went to Dallas 12 years ago, where he held a responsible position in the Magnolia Petroleum Co. He was of a sunny disposition and well-likes by all who knew him. His countless friends in Franklin extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.

His body will arrive in Franklin Monday noon. Services will be at the Bell residence, 1436 Buffalo Street, Tuesday.
