Lila Ladeane Fausch was born May 12, 1927 at Bostwick, Nebraska to Winne Pearl (Morrow) and William Jackson Dillin. She departed this life on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska.

Lila attended the Guide Rock schools and graduated with the class of 1944. She was united in marriage with Calvin "Bob" Fausch in 1945. This union was blessed with two sons and two daughters. They made their home on a farm outside of Guide Rock until 1959, when they moved into town to live.

Lila attended beauty school in Nelson, Nebraska and became a cosmetologist. She opened a beauty shop in her home. Lila's Beauty Shop was open to customers for 28 years. During this time she apprenticed her daughter, Wanda, so she could receive her license and offered a work space to Ronda Petsch after receiving her cosmetology license.

Lila's joy in life was her family and friends. She was an avid cook and enjoyed preparing food for her family throughout the year. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a kind friend to many. Lila was a member of the Guide Rock United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Irene Chapter.

She had faithfully cared for her aging parents and cared for her husband through his illness and final years. A highlight for Lila was attending her 70th Alumni Reunion at Guide Rock in May of 2014. She thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bob; children Jerry Fausch and Wanda Soucek; a grandson, Kevin Soucek; and two sisters, Myrtle Hadley and Velma Wolf.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Liz Petsch and husband Dave; son Thomas Fausch and wife Barb; 5 grandchildren: Chris Soucek, Tammy Smith, Brian and Lori Fausch, Angela and Edward Snodgrass and Hanna and A.J. Hatra. Also surviving are 5 great grandchildren: Keenan, Lauryn and Taryn Smith; Zachary Fausch and Colby "C.J." Hatra; 2 brothers, Charles and Bill Dillin, Jr. and many nieces, nephews and friends.

GRANDMA ALWAYS MADE GOOD "SCENTS"

Apple.....Cherry.....Turkey.....
There isn't anyone sitting here that hasn't enjoyed Grams' cooking. When she wasn't trying a new recipe from one of her many cookbooks, she was honoring a family request. I think her pies will come to mind first. We all have a favorite. I often look back on all the dinners she created for us for Holidays, Family Celebrations, Birthdays, or just because. The food was always wonderful, but what she was truly creating, without any of us realizing was "Family". Today we get busy and we forget how important a meal can be when shared. She nourished our bodies, but more importantly, she fed our souls.'

Perm Solution.....Shampoo.....

Of course, walking in the door after school I was most likely greeted with the scent of a perm wafting from the basement. I spent many hours in her beauty shop watching, learning, and yes, getting my hair done. She said she always smiled when she would hear me coming down the stairs saying, "Gram, I have an idea!" Whether it was a cut, color, perm, or a little of all three, it always turned out just the way I wanted.

Tomatoes Blanching.....Dill.....Vinegar.....

Summer time! Canning! Hanging around the kitchen then proved to be a little more labor intensive. Snapping beans, cutting corn, blanching tomatoes, and packing jars! Oh those pickles!!! Nothing tastes better after the garden is long gone then those jars of goodness that Gram had created.

Gram always made Good Sense too. She had so many words of wisdom for me. She always knew what I needed to hear. As a teenager, Gram always made time for our talks, and seemed to truly understand my teenage woes. Even when I became an adult and life wasn't going the way I wanted it to, I would talk to her and I always felt her listening with love and then guiding me with faith. I am grateful for the many years of talking, laughing, crying, loving...THANK YOU GRAM. You are a big part of who I am today as a Mother and as a Woman.

She showed me Strength, Truth, Had work, Family, Love and she always made Good "Scents"!

Your granddaughter,
Tammy
