      Irene Alice Powell, 86, of Boise, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1994, in a Payette care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Payette Chapel of the Roses. The Rev. Gary Smith of Red Rock Christian Church, Boise, will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Memorial Gardens, Payette.
      Irene was born Feb. 1, 1908, at Hamilton Creek, Mo., a daughter of James T. and Maude A. Wall Smith. She married Richard Powell in 1978. He died April 5, 1994. She was a member of the Red Rock Christian Church, Boise. Irene enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, etc. She loved gardening and was a very good cook. Irene loved her family very much.
      Survivors include two sons, Clarence C., and Mary Jane Reberry, and Richard Jr. and Lynn Powell, all of Boise; two daughters, Betty Fox and Jeanne Jorgensen, both of Boise; two brothers, David Smith of Fruitland, and John and wife, Lauretta Smith of Boise, two sisters, Daisy (Mrs. Frank) Franek of Fruitland and Inez (Mrs. Delbert) Minick of Chandler, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and a grandson.
