Henry Franklin Whitaker 78, Indianapolis, died March 27, 2006. He was born June 6, 1927 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late William Oscar Whitaker and the late Lydia Ethel (Phelps) Whitaker. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Sexton Foods as a truck driver for 38 years, retiring in 1990. He is a member of Warren Park Wesleyan Church. Henry is survived by his wife, Wilma Marlene (Crick) Whitaker; children, Michael (E. Marlene) Whitaker, Victoria (Robert) Cooper; sisters, Betty Carol Sheppard, Myrtle Zella Morfield and Helen Marthis Hargis-Thein; grandchildren, Jason Whitaker, Sean Whitaker, Jill (Matthew) Whitaker Persman, Shane Cooper. He is preceded in death by his parents in 1957 & 1986 and 9 brothers and sisters (1919-2021). Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 29th at 11 a.m. at the Feeney-Honak Shadeland Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 28th from 4 - 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
