Memorial services will be held on Saturday April 4th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN. with Father Manuel Sundaram officiating. Interment will be at Sand Hill Cemetery near Fosston at a later date. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with the arrangements.

Edna Mae Arneberg was born on March, 21st, 1936 in Stanley, North Dakota to parents Peter and Kathryn (Scacher) Abeldgaard. As an infant, the family moved back to the Fosston/McIntosh area. Edna attended the McIntosh school from 1st – 5th grade and then attended Fosston school from 6th-10th grade. She returned to McIntosh for 11th and 12th grade and graduated from there in 1954. In high school she was a member of the Library Club, Square Dance Club, and Editor of a school class newspaper.

After graduation, she went to work in Minneapolis as a secretary at Warner Manufacturing. On October 23, 1954 she married Olaf Arneberg in Fosston, Minnesota. Edna and Ole moved back to Fosston/Bagley area where she was a mother of 3 and a house wife until 1962 when she became employed by Clearwater County Social Services.

In 1965, the family moved to Bemidji, Minnesota where Edna was employed by the Social Security Administration. She retired early in 1987 and in 1988, they moved back to Fosston area.

Edna enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and made many afghans and doilies for the family. She was a beautiful quilter and all new babies received new baby quilts and all the family members have a quilt to remember her by.

She is survived by her husband, Olaf; son, Michael; daughter, Sandra (Gary) Drellack; Jim (Kathy) Arneberg; grandchildren: Angie (Jeremy) Peterson; Stephanie (John) Villella; McKena (Dakoda) Morse, and Andrew (Sarah) Arneberg and Jessica Shubert; great-grandchildren: Andres, Jerek, Callie, and Slevyn. She is also survived by her brothers Clarence Abeldgaard, Harold Abelgaard, and Peter Abelgaard.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters (Doris, Margaret, Betty, Helen), her brother (Lloyd), her daughter-in-law Mary.
