Frances Jean "Fran" Houston, 86, of Pekin, passed away at 8:48 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at UnityPoint Health in Pekin.
Born February 14, 1935 in Benton County, Mississippi to Virgil R. and Ineva (Elliott) Agee, she married Henry Franklin "Frank" Houston on January 27, 1951 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. He died October 14, 2006 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Robert L. Houston and Randy S. Houston; one daughter, E. Sherrie Allen; one grandson, Court F. Houston and one brother, Harley Agee.
Surviving are three grandsons, Chad (Julie) Houston of Delavan, Cameron (Danielle) Houston of Heyworth and Nick (Melissa) Roxby of Metamora; ten great-grandchildren, Garrett Houston, Wyatt Houston, Alyxis Houston, Nola Houston, Landen Houston, Rhoen Houston, Piper Roxby, Maria Cantrall, Garrett Cantrall and Colbi Cantrall; one brother, Thomas (Marilyn) Agee of East Peoria and two sisters, Laxine Montgomery of Creve Coeur and Gerry (Jim) Sego of Pekin. She also leaves one son-in-law, Jim (Carla) Allen of Gibson City; two daughters-in-law, Ann Houston of Heyworth and Marci Houston of Metamora; one sister-in-law, Billy K. Agee of North Port, Florida and many nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and socializing with friends and family. She also worked in real estate for many years.
Frances was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin for many years. An avid reader, she was a former member of Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter 673.
Her graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2021 at Orendorff Cemetery near Hopedale. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
