James “Harley” Agee, 88, of North Port, Florida, passed away at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Tidwell Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was formerly of East Peoria.

Born August 18, 1931 in Ashland, Mississippi to Virgil and Ineva (Elliott) Agee, he married Billie K. Grubbs on September 5, 1953 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She survives.

Also surviving are one brother, William T. (Marilyn) Agee of East Peoria and three sisters, Frances Houston of Pekin, Laxine (Dale) Montgomery of Creve Coeur and Gerry (Jim) Sego of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Sandra Tunis.

Harley had worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1982 as a machinist.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, playing cards, traveling, riding bikes and playing Bocci ball.

Harley was of the Baptist faith.

His private graveside service will be at FonduLac Township Cemetery in East Peoria. The Rev. John Vaughn will officiate. Private family visitation will be held prior to the graveside service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
