Mr. Mainord died March 28, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Madison County, TN, son of the late Ake and Ida Mae Flake Mainord and was educated in the local schools. Mr. Mainord was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. He was a retired farmer and also retired from Porter Cable Company. Mr. Mainord was a member of East Laurel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was well respected by all in the community and church. Mr. Mainord cherished his family and children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Janie Lanier Mainord on January 13, 2014 and to whom he was married September 29, 1945; a sister, Dorothy Mainord Mathis and a brother, George Alphis Mainord.
He leaves a daughter, Barbara Hopper and husband Guy Wayne of Beech Bluff; a son, Kenneth Mainord and wife Beverly of Beech Bluff; grandchildren, Tammy Taylor and husband Randy of Beech Bluff, and Crissy Verell and husband John of Jackson, TN; great-grandchildren, Courtney Moore and husband Freddie of Jackson, TN, Ben Taylor and wife Christian of Beech Bluff and Emmi Verell of Jackson, TN; great-great-grandchildren, Parker Westbrook of Jackson, TN, Tucker Taylor of Beech Bluff and Jace Moore of Jackson, TN.
The family requests any memorials be directed to East Laurel Baptist Church.
Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 3 p.m. today prior to services at the church.
