Theodore (Ted) Wangerin was born in Douglas County on February 16, 1897, the son of Albert and Hannah (Groseneck) Wangerin. He was confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church and grew to manhood in the Leaf Valley area. Ted moved to Forada where he lived for a few years. He returned to the Garfield area where he farmed and continued to live until his death on October 14, 1991. Fishing and gardening were the hobbies he enjoyed most. He was 94 years of age at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, two half brothers and a half sister.
He is survived by two nieces and three nephews in addition to several great nephews and great nieces.
Funeral services were October 17, 1991 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel, Alexandria, Minnesota, with Rev. Dane w. Compton officiating. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
