The Savannah Morning News of Jan. 8th, contained the following account of the death of Mr. Joseph W. Pate:

Mr. Pate died at St. Joseph Hospital from pneumonia at 11 o'clock Wednesday night. The funeral will take place from his home. No. 328 Broughton Street, west, at 3:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. The Rev. George Matthews, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, will conduct the services. The interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Pate was a native of LaFayette, Ala., and was 63 years of age. He had been a resident of Savannah for 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Agnes Pate; two daughters, Mrs. D. J. Charlton and Miss Jessie Pate; four sons, Messrs. Joseph, Eddie, Wilbur and Elma Pate; two brothers, Messrs. A. J. Pate, of Atlanta, and John Pate, of La Cabanas, Sonora, Mexico, and five sisters, Mrs. Joseph Shearer, and Mrs. Mattie Patton, of Birmingham, Misses Susie and Gussie Pate, of LaFayette, Ala., and Mrs. J. W. Manlove, of Valdosta.
