Betty Joyce Pickler departed for her heavenly home on Sunday, March 15, 2015.

Born May 14, 1930 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel James Tucker and the late Inez Estelle Almond Tucker.

Betty was a lifelong resident of Stanly County and worked at Wiscassett Mills for over 40 years, last as a department manager. She was also a volunteer at Stanly Memorial Hospital and helped with her grandchildren which she loved dearly.

She was a Baptist and attended church as long as her health permitted.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Spurgeon Durant Pickler, and missed him greatly since he passed away in 2004. Betty was also preceded in death by brothers, Ralph Tucker and Bill Tucker; and sisters, Louise Tucker and Polly Smyre.

Betty will be greatly missed by her family. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Amy Sedberry and husband, Kenny of Richfield; grandson, Matthew Shaver; granddaughters, Kayley Shaver, Ashley Sedberry, Brianna Sedberry and Hannah Sedberry; a great grandson, Kelih Collins; sister-in-law, Syrella Pickler; brother-in-law, Frank Ward; and several nieces and nephews.
