BERTIE "BUN" BENEDICT
Bertie "Bun" Benedict, age 87 of Butte des Morts, died Saturday afternoon at Omro Care Center, Omro. He was born March 21, 1908 in Butte des Morts the son of the late Clarence and Mary Alyea Benedict. He married Rose Wagner Sept 5, 1931 in Butte des Morts where they made their home their entire lifetime. He retired from Courtney and Plummer Inc. of Neenah in 1973 where he had been hired as their first employee. "Bun" was an avid sportsman and truly enjoyed hunting and trapping in the marsh. He was preceded in death by his wife Rose, Aug 27, 1983. He married Barbara Thiex of Neenah on Dec 27, 1988 and she survives. He is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Darlyne Benedict of Winneconne, one brother and sister-in-law, John and Ena Faye Benedict of Butte des Morts, one sister, Lily Mae Boche, Appleton, three grandsons, Brad and Sandy Benedict of Butte des Morts, Scott Benedict of Stevens Point and Jeffrey Benedict of Winneconne, and two great-granddaughters, Kristy and Katie Benedict of Butte des Morts. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother Clarence Jr and an infant sister. He was a member of St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winneconne, and Operators Engineer Teamsters Union No. 138.
Funeral services will be held Tues at 12 noon at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winneconne with Rev. Mark Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Friends may call at the church on Tues from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Mueller Funeral home, Winneconne, is assisting the family with arrangements.
