Eva Dennett is the daughter of John Fabin Dennett and Rebecca Alvira Fisk Stout. She married Oscar DeMill Stevens on December 2, 1914 in the St. George Temple. They had six children: Carl, Amanda, Alva, Ella, LaRue and Gwendolyn. Their son Carl died the day after his birth.

Oscar died (on September 29, 1924) of pneumonia a year after the birth of their last child.

Eva married her second husband, Israel Taylor Neilson two years later on December 15, 1926 in St. George, Utah. They had two children, Arlene and Ray. She gave birth to fourteen children from both marriages but only the five girls from her first marriage and the two children from her second marriage lived to maturity. The others were stillborn.
