A native of Pacolet, SC, the daughter of Henry Furman Toney (1872–1927) and Archie Aveline Bennett Toney (1877–1966); wife of Robert Henry Burnett (1904–1998).
Member of Spartanburg First Baptist Church, and a former Belk-Hudson employee.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Joyce Burnett Keith (1930–2022); sons, Toney Henry Burnett (1928-1983) and Vernon Earl Burnett (1932–2016); sisters, Ruby Toney Morgan, Lela Toney Opel 1917-), and Elsie Jane Toney Hunt; brothers, H. Furmon Wesley Toney (1901–1979), Audy E Toney (1903–1997), Ezbert Cordell Toney (1904–1992), Fred Roger Toney (1910–1999), and Charles Bennett "Charlie" Toney (1914-1983); seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Also predeceased by a brother, Finis James Toney (1909–1967) and Henry Hugo Toney (1915-1965)
Services were held at 3:00 pm, Monday, October 30, 1978, at M.W. Bobo Funeral Chapel by Dr. Alasatir C. Walker and Dr. E. Gibson Davis; burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
