Mrs. Julia Smith died at the home of her daughter Mrs. F. H. Bigham on West Main Street, Friday after a long illness.
Mrs. Smith was born March 10, 1852 and had made her home at Wilson and Marietta for several years. Mrs. S. V. Shields of Wilson is also a daughter and she is also survived by one daughter at Marietta and two sons.
The funeral was held at the Church of Christ Saturday afternoon, with Rev. O. K. Alexander officiating. The burial was made in the Eastman cemetery near Marietta. Richeson was in charge of the arrangements.
