Billie Gene Alexander, 70, of Oklahoma City, died Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at his home. He was born to parents Calvin Ed and Zelma Alivia Alexander on April, 23, 1944 in Apache, OK. He was grandson to Ed and Mary Alexander and Luther and Stella Massey, both early Apache/Broxton pioneers. He was a graduate of Broxton High School, where he was active in FFA, raising blue-ribbon show stock and also enjoyed basketball. In 1962 Billie was joined in marriage to Judy Marie (Samuels) Alexander and to that union two sons were born. In the 1960’s, he worked for American Trailers, pro-active as a their United Auto Workers Representative and then with LeeWay Motor Freight until the company ceased operations in early 1980’s. He continued with Metal Container Corporation, retiring from that Anheuser-Bush company after 20 years. He was a skilled carpenter and fabricator and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and relaxing with his grandchildren at “Alexander’s Abode” lake home at Lake Texhoma. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Judy, his wife of 52 years, sons Brent Alexander and Joel & his wife Liz Alexander, all of Oklahoma City. Brothers Cleon Alexander, of El Reno, Oklahoma and Carrol Alexander of Fairview, Texas, grandchildren Trenton Chaz Alexander of Oklahoma City, and Aria, Olivia, Sofia, and Michael Alexander of Erie, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, February 20 at 1st Pentecostal Church in Apache, OK with Reverend Bud Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.
