He was born Aug. 5, 1929, in Topeka, to Jacob and Catherine Best Berberick.
He was a pressman for Jostens Printing and Publishing Co. where he worked 42 years before he retired in 1994. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 534.
He married Marilyn Krogman on June 24, 1967, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Patrick L. Berberick, Carrollton, Texas; a daughter, Janet E. Berberick, Overland Park; his mother, Catherine Berberick, Topeka; three brothers, William Berberick, Topeka, James Berberick, Lee's Summit, Mo., and Joseph Berberick, Boise, Idaho; and four sisters, Mary Ann Belden, Overland Park, and Nancy Reeb, Marsha Bartley & Tressa Malecki, all in Topeka
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Berberick will lie in state after 4 p.m. today at the church where a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. will be followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5972 W. 25th, 66614. Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
