Marvin Tingle, Sr., age 67 of Carrollton, formerly of Henry County, died Friday, May 5, 2006, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was the son of the late Avery and Clara Benham Tingle and retired from the Oldham County Fiscal Court maintenance department.

He is survived by three daughters: Linda Daniels and Tammy Downey, both of Carrollton; June Perry, LaGrange; one son, Marvin O. Tingle, Jr., Worthville; four sisters: Lucille Ricketts, Scottsburg, Indiana; Juanita Rucker and Mrs. Larry (Linda) Ingabrand and Sue Sweazy, all of Campbellsburg; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 8 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Rucker, pastor of Port Royal Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in New Castle Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Daryl Shuler, Billy Tingle, George Smith, Eddie Burgin, Keith Adams and Ed Ricketts.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kosair Children's Hospital.
