ROBERT J. "BOB" THEROUX, a highly successful engineer, was born in Valparaiso, IN, the son of Valparaiso University’s Engineering School Dean FRANK R. THEROUX and his wife LOUISE. In 1929 BOB’s father became a professor at Michigan State in Lansing, MI. Remarkably, all six of FRANK and LOUISE’s sons plus their daughter (LOUIS, FRANK Jr., ROBERT, PAUL, CHARLES, JAMES and FRANCES all eventually graduated from MSU -- the largest group of siblings ever to accomplish that feat at Michigan State.

BOB and his wife CHARLOTTE DOROTHY THEROUX (known as "SHERRY") had two children, CHARLENE and ROBERT A. Collectively there were four grandchildren, TREVOR, BRENDON, MOEA and ANNA. BOB, SHERRY and their children lived in the Los Angeles area for many years before finally moving to the same town FRANK R. and LOUISE had retired to: Clearwater, FL. After BOB’s brother PAUL also retired to Clearwater, the two siblings met weekly over brunch for many years at the Bellair Golf Club.

One day in January 2015, the 95 year old BOB slipped and hit his head, leaving him unable to speak. Moved to rehab in the Madonna Building at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, BOB passed away on the evening of Saturday, February 7.

ROBERT J. "BOB" THEROUX was cremated two days later on February 9. There was no funeral, although a memorial service was mentioned as possibly taking place sometime in the future. The family reportedly intends to eventually release into the waters the ashes of both BOB and his predeceased wife SHERRY.
