William M Clubb was 1st of eight known children.

He married Mary Elizabeth McDonald, most likely in Jasper county, MO. although a marriage license has not yet been located. [6 Jun 2013]

Wm. Clubb's family was counted as one of the earliest pioneers of Jasper county, Missouri

Father Peter W. Clubb and mother Rhoda Starnes Clubb

Records show that his father, Peter W. Clubb, b.1820 purchased land in Springfield, Greene county, Missouri on the First day of SEPT 1858 for property in Sarcoxie, Jasper county, Missouri. Sarcoxie was the first area of Jasper county to be settled, then named Centerville. The Osage Indians were located in this area prior to and after the settlement. Sarcoxie was named after the Osage Indian chief Sarcoxie.
The father, Peter W. Clubb was attached as a Union private in the UNION MISSOURI VOLUNTEERS 9th Regiment, Missouri State Militia Cavalry. He died during the Civil War on June 11, 1863 in the Post Hospital at Mt. Pleasant, MO.

As well as his father, William also served under the Union flag during the Civil War.
He served in 2 different Union regiments during the Civil War, both the 9th Missouri S.M. Calvary and the 13th MO Calvary. Record is as follows:

Organized at St. Louis, Mo., September, 1864, to February, 1865, from Veterans of Missouri State Militia Regiments. Attached to District of Rolla and Dept. of Missouri to July, 1866.

Civil War Pension: Applied for and approved, 20 May 1875.

William Marion Clubb, son of Peter W. Clubb, was born December 5, 1842, in Lawrence County, Arkansas. At the age of six he came with his parents to Jasper County, Missouri, settling in Union Township, where he was raised and educated.
At the beginning of the Civil War, William M. Clubb joined the Union Army, He was a member of Captain Kemper's Company of the Ninth Regiment Enrolled Missouri State Militia. Subsequently he enlisted in Company M., Thirteenth Missouri Volunteer Cavalry, going into active service in the Department of the West, in the campaigns against the hostile Souix Indians. He was in many skirmishes and some pitched battles during his service on the plains. He participated in the campaign against Price in Missouri and Kansas, and was in the house of Dr. Stemmons in McDonald Township, when the house was attacked in 1862. He saw the Doctor and Lanton Duncan killed, and was himself severely wounded but managed to escape with several others who were engaged in the battle.
In January 1866, he was discharged from the United States Service,. He went west to Cole County, Missouri, where he met Miss Mary Elizabeth McDonald, a native of Callaway County, Missouri.
William Marion Clubb and Mary E, McDonald were married July 15, 1866, and came to Jasper County, Missouri in 1867, where they resided the rest of their lives. William Marion Clubb died in 1886, at the age of 44 years. His wife, Mary E. McDonald Clubb died in 1920. Both William and Mary E Clubb
are buried in Dudman Cemetery, in Jasper County, Missouri. There were five children born to this union.
