Joseph “Joe” Polk Burnett, 73, of Newton, Texas passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

Born Aug. 9, 1941 in Friendship community to Lena Louvenia (Sheffield) and Herbert Theadeous Burnett, he had lived most of his life in Friendship.

Joe was a retired tool pusher in the oil field industry. He was a member of the Circuit Rider Motorcycle Ministry and recently did mission work in the Rio Grande area.

Survivors include his children, Ronnie Burnett, Karen Burnett Fletcher and Mechelle Burnett Jordan & Charles; a sister, Patsy Patrick; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Burial: Friendship Cemetery, Jasper County Texas
